In 2017, a tradition was formed to hold open project meetings at COALCO’s properties under development to discuss the formats of effective management of investment and building activities and the prospects of promotion of housing development in Russia.

The project meeting on the construction site of the 5 Basmanny property was attended by representatives of Coalco Development and MR Group, as well as leading lecturers and master’s degree students of the RANEPA’s Investment and Building Department.

The moderator of the meeting was Natalia Yaskova, Doctor of Economics, Head of the RANEPA’s Investment and Building Department. Yuri Melnikov, Project Manager of Coalco Development, delivered the general information on the 5 Basmanny multifunctional apartment complex project. Denis Yelzov who represented MR group, a fee-developer, elaborated on Yuri Melnikov’s report and answered the questions of the meeting participants who got familiar not only with the specifics of funding and development of the project which was at its final stage (the façade finishing was currently underway), but also took part in the discussion of topical issues and prospects of housing development in Russia.

Numerous issues touched upon by Mikhail Viktorov, Doctor of Economics and Member of the RF State Duma’s Expert Council on Transport and Construction, Chairman of the Board of MOOSS Union, a self-regulated organization, First Deputy General Director of Coalco Development and RANEPA professor, dealt with evaluation of present-day challenges and prospects of housing development in Russia. Summing up the results of the meeting, participants thanked the moderator and sponsors and stressed the importance of integration between sectoral research and business practices in the complicated period of reforms in the building and construction industry.
